These special health care centres treat many different kinds of illnesses. The most common illnesses treated at a pediatric urgent care are pediatric acute bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, allergic rhinitis, gastroenteritis, viral gastroenteritis, and viral meningitis. In addition, many other illnesses are also treatable in these types of urgent care centres. Some common illnesses not included in these services include; diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, chronic skin diseases, osteoporosis, Lupus, multiple sclerosis, and drug allergies. Each of these illnesses can be dangerous if left untreated, so it is important to be seen as soon as possible. While some of these illnesses may seem like small medical concerns, each of these can turn into something much more serious if left untreated.
Some children may not feel comfortable going to the doctor on their own. This is why many pediatric urgent care centres offer walk-in clinics, where children can come in and wait while a doctor goes through their medical history. By doing this, they feel more comfortable and able to admit that they do not feel well. Some doctors also encourage parents to bring their children to the walk-in clinic so the doctor can examine them and see how their condition is. Many people are surprised to find out just how serious some illnesses can be, and so bringing children to the nearest walk-in clinic for regular checkups is a good way to keep these illnesses from progressing any further.
